Shiloh History

Los Angeles Shiloh Apostolic Church of Jamaica began first as a vision. From the time the saints migrated to California from Jamaica, there was always a desire to establish a work here in Los Angeles. However the facility to open the church was not available in the earlier years.
Although the location was not available the vision remained alive, therefore Elder Cardel Andrews, Missionaries Morgan and Lewis would meet in the home of Ian and Missionary Lewis on several occasions by simply having Sunday school. Also, Elder Andrews would have weekly prayer and Bible studies in his home.
God has been so good to us down through the years. For many years the saints would fellowship with the local churches. In the beginning with Revelation Apostolic Church, under the leadership of the late Bishop Treadis Tyler and Pastor Ricketts of Apostolic Ark Faith Assembly. Also, with the Assembly COGIC under the leadership of the late Bishop Willie T. Merritt and with Holy Apostolic Pentecostal Church of God, presiding Bishop, the late Bishop W.R. Randle and Pastor, Bishop Michael Ross. We must give God thanks for the leaders and saints that received us with love and fellowship.
Now the vision has come to pass. In the year of 2005, the Lord blessed us to lease a building from Pastor Joyce Lawson at 8451 S. Central Ave, in the city of Los Angeles. The church was fully furnished to accommodate our worship services. The first services were held during Thanksgiving weekend in 2005 with prayer and fasting. In 2006, Elder Andrews was officially ordained pastor of the church by the presiding Bishop of the Shiloh Apostolic Church of Jamaica, the late Bishop Lee H. Walsh accompanied by assistant chairman Bishop Kingsley Andrews and general recording secretary Minister Lorette Henry. This service was held on Thanksgiving weekend at which time the church was also dedicated unto the Lord. Therefore, each year Thanksgiving weekend is the time we celebrate and appreciate Jesus for the marvelous things He has done.
In 2014, Pastor Joyce Lawson gave us the opportunity to purchase the facility on 8451 S. Central Ave. Through great jubilation ad the miracle moving hand of God, we were able to buy the property.
Today it is our vision to establish a place of worship and education, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, reaching the community one family at a time through fellowship and service.
